One of Bedford’s many beautiful landmarks is Bibbins Park, located on State Street at the northeast edge of town. Multiple large oak trees cover the park providing visitors with shade from the heat of summer, as well as add to the remarkable scenery. Bibbins Park features several alternatives of sports equipment including basketball, croquet, horseshoe, and sand volleyball courts. It also has tennis courts that are in the process of renovation. The park also has a playground to play on. Bibbins Park also provides picnic areas and shelter houses for its visitors to utilize and enjoy. The land in which Bibbins Park is located was donated to the city in 1912 by an early Bedford pioneer and business man, A.L. Bibbins, a well known druggist. Bibbins Park also hosts the Bedford Pool.
