Bedford's downtown Commercial Historical District is on the National Register of Historical Places for its architectural and historic significance. This district offers a unique look at one of the best preserved collections of brick commercial architecture dating from the late 1880s. The downtown area has brick-paved streets. Bedford is home to two unique, extremely clean antique and collectible malls plus six antique shops full of treasures and memorabilia in addition to our other retail stores, businesses and professional offices which also includes our local newspaper, The Bedford Times Press.

of Taylor County. The historical courthouse which sits
majestically among the trees that adorn the courtyard in downtown
Bedford is a scene of rare Victorian architectural charm and beauty.
She is often referred to as "The Grand Old Lady with the White Crown"
